Classes

At dining² wine and food education is offered to professionals in the field as well as those that simply enjoy food.  Classes range from simple introduction to enology and viticulture, proper wine service, suggested food and wine pairing to in-depth examination of individual grape varietals and appellations.  Also offered are private and semi-private cooking classes.

Since each class is based on the needs and desires of the students participating, goals are achieved and a great sense of accomplishment ate reach giving all involved a greater and deeper sense of the food and wine and how each relate and join with one another.

A sampling of classes include:

  • Introduction to Wine Covers grape growing, white/red wine making, characteristics of wine, how to taste

  • Food and Wine pairing examination of wine components and relationship to various food aspects

  • Proper wine service Learn how to properly handle wine from the moment it is collected from the cellar, presentation, pouring to clearing

  • Major grape varieties Overview of cabernet sauvignon, pinot noir, syrah, merlot, chardonnay, riesling and sauvignon blanc

  • Wine regions of the world Introduction of wine growing areas, appelation systems, culture and customs within the glass

  • Tasting like a sommelier Learn to appreciate the various characteristics of what's in the glass using all five senses and articulating the findings with appropriate wine terms
